Tanatswa Chingwe

Our Founder

Our founder’s journey began at a young age, driven by a deep calling to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. Witnessing the challenges faced by underserved communities, she became determined to address the gaps in mental health and wellness support. This passion only grew stronger as her own life experiences and education revealed the critical need for trauma recovery and emotional well-being, particularly in African communities that have long been neglected by traditional systems.

After years of internal struggle, she was diagnosed with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), a pivotal moment that highlighted the profound impact of stigma in preventing many Africans from seeking the help they deserve. Her personal journey became the foundation of her vision: to create a space where healing is accessible to all, and where mental wellness is viewed as a fundamental right.

In 2024, she channeled this deeply personal mission into the founding of Tafara Wellness Initiative. With a commitment to building transformative wellness programmes that are rooted in empathy and resilience, she set out to ensure that no one has to walk the path of recovery alone.

Through her leadership, Tafara Wellness Initiative continues to inspire, uplift, and empower, embodying the very spirit of her journey and the calling that has guided her every step of the way.
